All parents want their children to model good character. And the best way to do that is to encourage children to want to be just like our ultimate role model―Jesus!

Just Like Jesus Bible Storybook is a collection of stories that will inspire kids to take on the character of Jesus. Each story highlights a lesson that Jesus taught―lessons like giving thanks, treating everyone equally, sharing with others, being patient, being generous, and more. Each lesson features a “Jesus in the Bible” story that shows Jesus’ character and how He acted in particular situations. Flip the page, and children will find a section called “Jesus in Me” that will inspire them to model Jesus’s behavior, conform to His character, and want to be just like Him! Each lesson ends with a short prayer through which children can ask God to help them develop the character of Jesus.

My take on this book:
If we want our children to make good choices then we have to build in them good character traits and with Just Like Jesus by Stephen Elkins you will find  forty character traits of Jesus. Each story opens with a character trait, a lovely illustration and then a Bible verse, each Bible verse comes from either the NIV or the NLT translation. Then on the next page we get the heading Jesus in the Bible and then it goes on to share a Bible story about that particular trait of Jesus. This section is followed by Jesus in me and shares practical information on how young ones can practice being like Jesus in their daily life. Each story closes with a prayer. The illustrations in this little book are very eye catching and paired nicely with the topics. This is a book that parents will want to read with their youngster so that they can answer any questions and also help with some of the harder words. I love that there is a dedication page because this book would make a nice little gift, and honestly I could see this being used in a setting such as Sunday School or even home school. I love that there is a list at the back of the book for the user to check off each  character building chapter that they read. Overall, a wonderful little book to help teach youngsters about the wonderful characteristics of Jesus!
