Faith Walker is a dreamer. She believes in marrying for true love and longs for adventure. But that wasn't in the cards for this young woman in the East.

When her family decides she's getting too old, they give her an ultimatum. Marry who we choose or never come back home. Faith decides to answer an advertisement for a mail order bride and start her own adventure out West.

Roy Heatley is the man who placed the advertisement. He's everything Faith could have asked for: hardworking, dependable, and kind. But there's something keeping him from falling in love with his true bride. What is it?

Will Roy's secret tear their new family apart? Or will Faith be able to uncover it and warm his heart?

Faith: Westward Brides Book 1 is a sweet, full-length romance. This historical mail order bride western has a happy ending.

My take on this book:
At the age of nineteen Faith Walker dreams of love and adventure, not just a marriage for the sake of security.Thing is her parents feel that security is just what she needs, and finds an available suitor for her, someone they want her to marry. Unbeknownst to her parents she answers an ad for a mail order bride in Oklahoma. When the letter from Oklahoma arrives with a train ticket inside she shares the news with her parents and her father disowns her. She heads west to start her life with Roy Heatley the man who placed the ad, but when she arrives things aren't as she hoped. Will Faith find the love she longs for with Roy?

My favorite genre to read is historical mail order bride sagas and Faith certainly fit the bill! Ms. Cyr pens a wonderful story that was rich with detail, but more than that provided a cast of characters that I really cared about. I thought Faith's decision was the right one, and while I feared that the story might be a bit predictable once she made the decision to head west, instead what I found was far from predictable. Faith didn't just get her happily ever after, she had to work for it because Roy didn't seem ready to embrace the future instead he was mourning the past. The secondary characters kept the plot moving along, I fell in love with Minnie immediately, and the ladies who greeted Faith at the train station were quite interesting! I really enjoyed the way the author incorporated a christian theme into the story, making for a clean read. If you enjoy reading mail order bride adventures Faith is a must read! Even though there are only 124 pages the author provides a full length story that was rich in detail that allowed me to follow along with Faith as she takes her journey west looking for love and adventure.I am anxious to read the next book in the Westward Brides series!
